The web app works everywhere with no install. On iPhone & iPad, add it from Safari (Share → “Add to Home Screen”) — Apple doesn’t allow app downloads outside the App Store. The optional Android APK is a packaged version of the same app for sideloading.

Does Anan work offline?

Yes. After the first load it runs fully offline as an installable web app, so it keeps working with no internet — at home, in the car, or anywhere with no signal.

Is our data private?

Yes. By default everything — vocabulary, photos, voice recordings and usage insights — stays on your device, and using Anan as a communicator never needs an account. If a carer or clinician turns on optional account sync, it is end-to-end encrypted: the device encrypts everything before upload, so the server only ever holds an unreadable bundle it cannot decrypt. Nothing is ever sold or shared, and insights are always calculated on the device.

What devices does Anan work on?

Any device with a modern web browser: iPad, iPhone, Android phones and tablets, Chromebook, Windows and Mac. You can add it to the home screen so it opens like a normal app, and there is an optional Android APK.

Can it be used with a switch or screen reader?

Yes. Anan includes switch scanning with auditory cues, plus keyboard and screen-reader support, so people with physical access needs can drive it independently.

Can we add our own words, photos and voices?

Yes. Caregivers and speech pathologists can add custom words and phrases, personal photos and recorded voices, and set up multiple user profiles — all stored on the device.

Does Anan help with NDIS reports?

Yes. Anan can generate a one-tap usage summary you can share with your planner, support coordinator or therapist. It is a helpful record, not a substitute for clinical assessment. Communicating with Anan is free; talk to your NDIS planner about funding for a device or the carer toolset if you need them.
